Conditions générales d'utilisation
What this service is, what it deliberately is not, and where responsibility sits when you pick up a needle.

The service
Mendline is operated by JANNA, 288 Cours Lafayette, 69003 Lyon, France. Full identification is published in the mentions légales.
From photographs you supply and a short description in your own words, the service reads the kind of damage, presents four possible repair approaches, shows how visible each one would be and whether it can be undone, marks where the garment is under load, and — on a paid plan — illustrates the order in which one chosen approach is worked.
What the service is not
- It does not carry out repairs and does not accept garments.
- It does not recommend, introduce, rate or link to any tailor, workshop, repairer or other service provider, and takes no commission from anyone.
- It does not quote a price for a repair or estimate what one should cost.
- It does not recommend or sell thread, tools, materials or any other product, and carries no affiliate arrangement.
- It does not tell you that your repair will look like the preview, because it will not.
You bear the risk of working on your own garment
If you work on a garment yourself following what this service shows you, you do so on your own responsibility and you bear the consequences, including the risk of damaging or destroying the garment.
The service presents illustrations of possible approaches. The result you obtain depends on your skill, on the thread and materials you choose, and on the true condition of the fibres. None of those is known to this service, and no assurance is given that following what is shown produces the result previewed.
Some approaches cannot be undone. Where that is so, it is marked by a shape and a word beside the approach itself, on every screen where the approach appears, at the same size as the description of the result. Read those markers before you begin, not after.
For anything you cannot replace — vintage, inherited, wedding, leather, silk, embroidered, or a garment that matters to you — consult a professional before doing anything yourself. The service does not provide a step sequence for such garments on any plan, and says so on screen when your description indicates one.
What the service cannot know
- The true condition of the fibres. A photograph shows the hole, not how brittle the yarn is a centimetre away from it.
- How far the wear extends. Thinning that has not opened yet looks identical to sound cloth on a screen.
- What the cloth is actually made of. Blends photograph like the fibre they imitate.
- How the garment has been washed and dried, which decides how the repair will move afterwards.
- Your hand. Two people working the same method on the same cloth do not get the same result.
This list is shown beside every reading rather than kept here, because a limitation a user has to go looking for is a limitation that has been hidden.
Who may use it
The service is for people aged 16 and over. Below that age an account may be opened and used only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is then responsible for it. We do not knowingly maintain accounts outside this rule, and we close any we become aware of.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials to yourself and for what is done with your account. Tell us at support@jannaclothing.com if you think someone else has access to it.
What you may upload
Upload photographs of the garment: a close-up of the damage and the whole garment laid flat. Photographs of a garment being worn are not accepted.
You must not upload:
- images containing an identifiable person, a face, or any part of a body;
- images you do not have the right to use;
- anything unlawful, or any content that a reasonable person would consider abusive or obscene.
You keep ownership of what you upload. You grant us only the rights strictly necessary to produce the result you asked for, described in the privacy policy. Your photographs are not used to train any model.
Prohibited high-risk uses
The output of this service is an illustration of a textile repair. It must not be used as a basis for a decision in any of the following fields, and we prohibit such use:
- medical or health decisions of any kind;
- legal advice or legal proceedings;
- financial, insurance, credit or lending decisions;
- safety-critical assessment, including protective or technical clothing;
- employment, recruitment or worker management decisions;
- housing decisions;
- judicial or law-enforcement purposes.
It must also not be used to authenticate, value, date or certify a garment, nor as evidence of the condition of a garment in any dispute or claim.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, a failure at a supplier or an outage may interrupt it. Where an interruption is significant and attributable to us, the remedies in the terms of sale apply, including the legal guarantee of conformity, which we do not exclude.
We may change these terms. Material changes are notified in advance to account holders, and a paid subscriber who does not accept them may cancel before they take effect.
Ending an account
You may close your account at any time from the workspace. Closing it removes your garments and photographs from active storage; the timescales are set out in the privacy policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, in particular the rules on what may be uploaded and the prohibited high-risk uses. Where we do, we say why, and any sum paid for a period not yet used is refunded.
Law and disputes
French law applies. Nothing here deprives a consumer of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law where they habitually reside. Before any dispute, write to support@jannaclothing.com; if that does not settle it, you may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator.
